As you prepare to pop that NYE bubbly, here some 2021 highlights from your friendly neighborhood Grapefruit Bubbly. Don’t give us that look, this is what the internet demands.
1) Grapefruit Bubbly started 2021 off with a bang (in March) with the premiere of its first sketch comedy video at the 2021 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival. Unfortunately, the sketch hasn’t aged as quickly as we all kind of expected it would.
2) Grapefruit Bubbly received a full-page feature in The Cap Times. Revisit our conversation about comedy, writing and Pepsi money. (Shoutout to Features Editor Rob Thomas!)
3) We launched a sketch comedy podcast, We Can’t Make This Video, which is available for free wherever you don’t watch videos.
4) We performed a live virtual sketch comedy show at the 2021 Austin Sketch Fest. You can watch a recording of the whole performance here (pausing feature now enabled to allow for longer periods of laughing and/or fainting with delight).
4½) Grapefruit Bubbly received a nice letter from a Wisconsin state senator that, to our surprise, was not a cease and desist. Diehard GFB-heads will notice Olivia’s name is spelled wrong.
4¾) Grapefruit Bubbly performed its first live, in-person sketch comedy showcase at the 2021 Milwaukee Comedy Festival. Checkout our promotions for it on Instagram.
4½) Our sketch, “That’s When I Realized…”, was included in the 2021 Philly Sketchfest. The entire festival can be streamed for free on Facebook.
5) We made a list of Grapefruit Bubbly highlights from 2021. Check it out right here.
Thanks so much for all your support/shares/clicks this year! We’re looking forward to 2022 and we’ll let go of your shirt collar now.
Happy New Year!
