Hello and welcome to a slightly different looking 5 Things. It wouldn’t be a new year if we weren’t trying out some new things, and Grapefruit Bubbly is no different. So while you are discovering gym routines and recipes, poutine, we are discovering a new format. Short, Special, Social.
One thing we know about the internet and the things we consume is that it can feel endless, and comedy content is no different. Every day there are a million comedians, writing a million jokes, for a million different mediums. Who has the time?
We do.
So each week, we’re going to find the best stuff for you to watch and recommend something Short (for you to watch now), something Special (for you to watch later), and something Social (A Tweet, or TikTok, or Reel) embedded right into the post for that quick hit you need in your email.
We hope you enjoy the new format, and if you do let us know! And if you don’t, uh fine. The goal is always to make you laugh.

SHORT
This past week, Grapefruit Bubbly goofball Ryan Kushner celebrated his birthday. In honor of that birthday we’ve decided to release some never-before-seen footage of Ryan during the filming of our sketch “Millennials Try Dog Food”
This behind the scene footage gives an intimate look into the artist; much like the new Beatles documentary Get Back, the highlights are personality and the process. it really shows how the creative sausage gets made.

SPECIAL
Moses Storm: Trash White. The first special from the very talented comedian Moses Storm was released on HBOMax this week.
Performed atop a pile of literal white trash at The Montalbán Theatre in Hollywood, CA, Moses recounts memories of growing up poor, dumpster diving for food, breaking into country clubs, squaring off with carjackers while naked, and more in this hilarious and heartfelt debut standup special.
He performed a version of this special earlier this year in Madison at Comedy on State and it’s awesome to see what the final version has become with all the bells and whistles. It’s a really great show.
